Why so high? I ask myself that question about a lot of stuff I get from Japan. Usually one thing is the detail, but SO much stuff just never sees the light of day over here.
There's a discussion going on over at MWD about Japanese culture and their respect for toys and dolls and how they're much more willing to pay for quality and appreciate the beauty of these figures than the average person in the states.

I know nothing aboot the show/book/movie/whatever, but the figs kick ass.
and when ya get right down to it, that's all that matters.
The story behind the Bio-Booster Armour is really good. If you ever get the chance, you can (or could) rent the TV series anime or the abridged anime "movie" version.
Don't ever watch the live action.
It's been quite a few years since I've watched any of it but it had enough of an impact to make me really want the PVC kits at the time.
Hobby Link Japan has the Guyver 1 for less then that.. It IS a sweet ass figure.. Have one myself.. Have had it for months.. It's only roughly 40 going through JLH. That's where I got mine.. I also have Guyver III reissue heading to me for a little closer to 50. Should be here in the coming week, if anything like the last one.. Takes about 15 days to get to you depending on where you are because it's coming from Japan.
